Foundation Director

Position Description and Duties

The Foundation Director represents the interests of the SHRM Foundation and its activities to the State.

RESPONSIBLE TO:
State Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Educate and raise awareness of the SHRM Foundation to the chapters and the State Council regarding the purpose, resources, and ongoing activities of the Foundation.
  2. Promoting the SHRM Foundation and its fund development needs at the leadership conference, state conferences, State Councils, and chapters.
  3. Encourage chapters, the State Council, and State Council members to contribute financially to the SHRM Foundation as a show of support for the Human Resources profession, ensuring that at least 50% of the chapters made a contribution to the SHRM Foundation.
  4. Advise and update the State Council and chapters of the Foundation's activities and fund development needs.
  5. Promote the SHRM Foundation regional scholarship program.
  6. Utilize National SHRM resources as needed.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by State Director.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • SHRM membership in good standing required.
  • SHRM certification preferred.
TERM:
Appointment is made by the State Director with the concurrence of the Area Vice President. Serves a one-year term beginning the first day of January and ending the last day of December. May be reappointed for two additional terms for a total service of three years.

Biography

Sheree Yates is a HR professional with nearly 20 years of Human Resources experience, with the majority of that time in a lead Human Resource position.  Sheree is the Senior Director of Human Resources for Educational Credential Evaluators a non-profit located in Milwaukee.  She has a strong knowledge of strategic planning, recruitment practices, succession planning, organizational change, leadership, employee development, benefits, and training.

Sheree has a BA in Psychology from the University of WI - Milwaukee, and an MS in Organizational Change Leadership program from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.

She is an HR Certified Professional (SHRM-CP, PHR) and an active leader in the Wisconsin HR community having served on the SHRM Racine and Kenosha (SRKA) and Milwaukee Metro SHRM (MMSHRM) chapters boards in such roles as President, President Elect, Secretary, Social Media Director, Workforce Readiness Director, and Certification Director.  Sheree also severed on the WISHRM State Council as Certification Director.  
She is also actively engaged in high school and university alumnae groups.  Having served on Pius XI High School Board of Directors, UW Platteville Distance Education Alumni Board, UW Platteville Student Advisory Board, UW Platteville Alumnae Ambassador and UW Milwaukee Alumnae Ambassador Program. 

Sheree currently lives in McHenry, IL with her husband, two sons, and their dog Duke.
