Position Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner, reporting to the Employee Experience Manager, is responsible for supporting organizational operations and strategy by providing coaching and guidance on HR related business matters including employee relation issues, performance development, safety, HR policy and procedure and employment law practices. The position formulates partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added, collaborative service to leadership and employees of Lakeland Care, Inc. (LCI) that reflects the business objectives of the organization for human resources and related functions. 


Essential Competencies:

Accountability

  • Responsible for HR practice and partners with department leaders on all applicable labor laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal advisors as needed/required.
  • Assist with the performance development process to ensure employees are receiving regular feedback on their performance. Ensure supervisors participate in and uphold the integrity of the performance development process and assist in training as needed.

Critical Thinking

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relation issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Respond timely to employee issues and concerns and work with supervisors to effectively manage employee performance. Investigate and take appropriate action to resolve workplace conflicts and performance concerns in support of LCI values.   

Commitment to Excellence

  • Oversee the performance development process including guiding HR practices related to coaching, feedback, documentation, and employment decision-making. 
  • Support change management efforts by leading and influencing change plans and communications as it relates to business strategy changes within HR. 

Interpersonal Awareness

  • Exhibit LCI values consistently to demonstrate inclusive cultural support within the organization.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity to ensure all HR practices are respectful and sensitive to all employee populations.
  • Exhibit emotional intelligence and apply LCI values when addressing employee related matters.

Relationship Building

  • Work closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Foster a team energy which empowers organizational coaching to guide leaders in a strength-based, emotionally centered, service-minded approach to excellence. 
  • Establish organizational partnerships to lead performance development related initiatives.

Organizational Regard

  • Promote advancement of day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors the adopted mission, vision, and values of Lakeland Care.  
  • Identify learning needs related to employee performance in collaboration with Employee Experience Coaches. 
  • Lead and provide direction or organizational and human resources strategies related to DEI&B, employee engagement, competency-based performance, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
  • Minimum of five (5) years knowledge of human resources required. Long-term care program and/or project management a plus. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the LCI’s organizational structure, positions, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous leadership and coaching experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. 
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
