Overview

The Manager of Recruitment is responsible for providing HR support to assigned teams including employee relations, manager coaching, accommodations, investigations, and performance management.  The position assesses, anticipates and serves as a consultant to management on human resource related issues

Responsibilities

Recruitment and Hiring (Percentage of time: 30%)

Use applicant tracking system for screening of candidates

Select, set up and interview of candidates (telephone and in-person)

Perform reference checks

Perform job offers verbally and in writing

Follow-up on new hire paperwork with HR Coordinator to ensure all requirements are met

Serve as back-up to Age at Home Recruiter for interviewing and hiring caregivers

 

Sourcing (Percentage of time: 20%)

Use social media for advertising: including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram

Identify and participate in community events to connect with active or passive candidates (job fairs, chamber and school events, community groups, etc.)

Perform recruitment campaigns through applicant tracking system, direct mail, and other identified sources.

Place advertisements via websites, print media, radio, television, etc.as directed by individual departments.

 

Recruitment subject area expert (Percentage of time: 20%)

Act as recruitment subject area expert.

Responsible to document processes, cross train, and update the HR team as necessary.

 

Data and Metrics (Percentage of time: 5%)

Collect data on candidate info, time to fill, retention, success rate of sources, etc.

Compile metrics for tracking.

 

Employee Relations (Percentage of time: 15%)

Assist in resolving employee relations issues including performance management, harassment and discrimination complaints.

Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Help prepare written responses for EEO, Unemployment and Workers Compensation queries. Assist with leave of absence and complaint processes.

Provide coaching on performance management issues (disciplinary actions, terminations, evaluations, career development, conflict and change management); work collaboratively with managers on performance evaluation processes to ensure timely completion and implementation of performance plans when appropriate.

Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.

Interpret, communicate and administer human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. Seek guidance from management as needed and collaborate with legal counsel as appropriate.

 

Manager Training and Support (Percentage of time: 15%)

Study and analyze positions and assists management in the development and maintenance of job descriptions in standardized form. Assist in the evaluation of jobs and wages using established systems.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees; monitors legislation and pertinent data related to employee/labor relations matters for compliance with applicable local, state/federal statutes and regulations; evaluates their impact upon operations, and recommends policy and procedural improvements to management, as appropriate.

Advocate and promote strategies that will enhance cultural, ethnic, and gender diversity as well as support policies and programs relating to equal employment opportunity.

Assist in the development and facilitation of supervisory training programs.

 

Manage Staff (Percentage of time: 10%)

Hire, train, engage and retain department staff.

Assign, direct and verify the work of direct reports.

Assess staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, correction and development opportunities.

 

Other Duties (Percentage of time: 5%)

Participate in internal work groups, meetings and committees relative to position responsibilities.

Ensure compliance with Agrace policies and protocols, state, federal, and other regulations.

Develop and adhere to annual department operating budget.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  2. Minimum five years’ of experience as recruiter or HR Business Partner
  3. PHR or SHRM-CP, preferred
  4. Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
