Building a Stronger Workforce: The Impact of the SHRM Foundation
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation is a nonprofit affiliate of SHRM, the world's largest HR professional society. The Foundation is committed to advancing the HR profession and supporting the professional development of HR professionals through research, education, and scholarship.

The SHRM Foundation conducts research on critical issues in the HR field, including diversity and inclusion, workforce development, and talent management. One of the Foundation's most recent research initiatives is the "Getting Talent Back to Work" initiative, which aims to help individuals with criminal records find employment. The initiative includes research on the benefits of hiring individuals with criminal records, as well as resources for HR professionals to help them create inclusive hiring practices.

In addition to research, the SHRM Foundation provides educational opportunities for HR professionals, including scholarships and grants. The Foundation's scholarships support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in HR or related fields, while its grants support HR professionals who want to attend professional development programs or conduct research.   There are also a number of conference and certification support scholarships available.

Another of SHRM Foundation's initiatives is its Veterans at Work Certificate program, which provides HR professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively recruit, hire, and retain veterans. The program is free for SHRM members and includes online courses and a certification exam.

The SHRM Foundation's work has a significant impact on the HR profession and the organizations and individuals it serves. By conducting research, providing education and training opportunities, and supporting the professional development of HR professionals, the Foundation is helping to create a more diverse, inclusive, and effective workforce.
