Description: Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin offers a unique career opportunity for an experienced, human resources professional to share his/her expertise with a variety of member companies. This newly-created position will provide HR leadership to ABC members through cost-effective outsourcing of HR functions on a fee basis, delivered with responsiveness and a professional touch. 

ABC is a national trade association representing 22,000 members from more than 19,000 construction and industry-related firms, with over 800 Wisconsin members. If you are an experienced HR consultant looking for a change, or an experienced HR professional eager to share your knowledge and expertise with a multitude of companies as a consultant, this position may be right for you. 

Consulting with members is on a case-by-case basis and will include, programs and services, in the areas of:
  • Recruitment and retention,
  • Legal compliance,
  • Payroll,
  • Employee wages and benefits,
  • Employee relations,
  • Employment practices and procedures
The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with a minimum of 10 years direct Human Resources experience. Extensive knowledge of Federal, State of Wisconsin and local laws and Human Resources related regulations is essential.  Designation of PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP encouraged.  Prior experience or knowledge within the construction industry is preferred. 

This position will require travel out of the office to Association Members locations throughout Wisconsin, with occasional overnights.  A company provided vehicle is included and a valid Driver’s License is required.
