Description:

We are seeking a strategic hands-on benefits expert! We are looking for that creative and strategic thinker who is passionate about improving and enhancing benefit/payroll offerings, but is also willing to roll up their sleeves to help with daily benefit and payroll activities to support the team.

As Corporate Benefits and Payroll Manager, the key initiatives will be to identify, develop and deliver a top-notch corporate benefits and wellness program that will allow us to offer competitive, quality benefits to attract and retain top talent by controlling costs.  This position will also provide key oversight and day to day administration of the Benefits/Wellness, Payroll and HRIS team/functions that support the organization.  Functions of this role include:

  • Conducts strategic planning for new projects and updates of existing benefit and payroll plans
  • Plans and manages system functionality changes in HRIS System
  • Manages/mentors three HR professionals supporting benefits, payroll and HRIS functions
  • Provides associate and HR department support for six manufacturing site locations
  • Acts as one of 3 fiduciaries and chair for the Rockline Retirement Savings Plan (401k) committee to manage the program
  • Ensures key benefit and payroll initiatives are implemented
  • Ensure upgrades, new functionality and supporting communication within the HRIS is successful

Requirements and Skills necessary:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field required.
  • Seven years of benefits/payroll experience or equivalent combination of education/experience required. Progressive management experience with three years of multidiscipline supervision experience is required. Experience with corporate functional support for site manufacturing locations is preferred.
  • Human Resource certification through MRA or SHRM is desirable. 
  • Previous experience with:
    • designing and implementing a competitive, cost effective health and welfare plan
    • understanding of insurance protocols and benefit requirements
    • managing a corporate function across multiple locations and cultures 
    • processing payroll to provide guidance/oversight to ensure payroll runs efficient and compliant
    • implementing an HRIS system across different HR process/functions; experience with UKG(Ultimate Kronos Group) is desired
    • managing a team
    • working knowledge of benefit and employment laws (ERISA, Section 125, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.)
