KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible to meet the Human Resource needs of Leadership and staff in assigned client groups. Effectively align business and people resources to achieve strategic business initiatives. Develop strong relationships and be seen as a trusted and valued business partner. As HR business partner for multiple managers, works to optimize people, processes, structure and resources to minimize turnover, enhance morale, and maintain productivity. Incorporates change management techniques to ensure effective transition for changes made.
 
This individual will also be responsible for the following:
 
• HR Generalist for client groups in Middleton warehouse, Toy Store and DeForest Distribution Center.
• Strong partner and first point of contact to provide guidance, consultation, and direction regarding employee relations, performance management, development, staffing needs, and organizational changes.
• Responsible for investigations for conduct-related claims and administration of other disciplinary actions, including proper documentation and conducting of terminations.
• Insures successful execution/integration of corporate initiatives such as performance management, talent development, succession planning, employee engagement survey.
• Works with leadership to assess individual, team and business performance needs, recommend, and/or deliver developmental and performance interventions including training, coaching and group facilitation.
• Works with business partners on job and org design. Makes promotion and compensation recommendations.
• Works with business leaders to define continuous improvement opportunities, objectives and approach. Coaches leaders on change management tools, processes and techniques.
• Works with leadership to ensure a healthy workplace culture where wellness and safety are a critical business priority.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years of HR experience with 3+ years of HR Business Partner experience
• Bilingual skills required. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• PHR and/or SPHR certification preferred.
 
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Strong background as a HR Generalist ideally in a distribution/warehouse environment, including experience with employee relations, investigations, performance management & employee & organization development.
• Knowledge of Human Resource principles and practices. Knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to employment.
• To be successful, an individual must be able to perform the role and uphold the HR function autonomously.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience managing several multi-facetted projects within tight timeframes with minimal supervision.
• Ability to deal with complexity, identify creative resource solutions and align individual and business expectations in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Must have ability to build strong rapport and trust with individuals at all levels of the organization in order to resolve conflict, elevate employee performance, and lead or implement change.
• Manage conversations and communicate key messages in a calm, empathetic, but direct manner. Able to influence without direct authority when coaching employees and management.
• Constant problem solving regarding complex employee FMLA, ADA, and other legal issues.
• Ability to take complex and/or incomplete information/concepts/situations/dynamics and transform it into clear and easily understandable information. Must be able to assess problems and identify appropriate solutions.
• Work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced, high stress environment, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
