DMR Structure for my Chapter…..Is it Right for our Chapter?
We have one chapter within our state, Blackhawk Human Resource Association, who is a DMR chapter with SHRM. A dual member is a committed member to a local chapter in addition to national SHRM. There are many benefits to our Chapters for being a DMR Chapter and some of them are highlighted below:
· Streamlines the join and renew process for Chapter members (done all through the SHRM Store)
· Leverages SHRM brand awareness and robust marketing campaigns for Chapters
· Reduced Membership-operations workload for Chapters
· Allows Chapter leaders to focus on mission vs. daily operations
Why would chapters want their members to be a member of their local chapter and SHRM?
· Average tenure of a dual member is more than DOUBLE
· Certification rates among dual members are more than DOUBLE
· Dual members have higher attendance and engagement at chapter events
· When renewal time comes, there’s double the reason to renew:
o Chapter Value Proposition
o SHRM Value Proposition
· Increased Chapter Financial Support Payments (an increase of 150%!)
