Nominations and Submissions are Open for the WI SHRM 2023 Diversity Award
In 2008, Helwig Carbon Products earned the first WI SHRM Diversity Award. Diversity came naturally to them, because it was part of their everyday organized culture.
15 years ago, Helwig’s already had 66% of their employee population composed of minority groups, in addition to 16 first languages and dialects spoken throughout the organization, including American Sign Language.
Their application embraced the culture of all of their employees by recognizing the value in the differences each person brings to their organization.
Please help WI SHRM Celebrate your Good Work and Intentions by helping us find organizations to recognize with our Diversity Award for all their hard work in the areas of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Workflex.
We present the award annually at the WI SHRM State Convention in October that is held at the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
The winner is always a company or organization that demonstrates organizational achievements in diversity and inclusion, as well as being an organization who has been a role model in their local community as a strong advocate for diversity.
We look for an organization that is a pioneer, leading innovative initiatives to make their workforce feel included, that their diverse backgrounds contribute to the organization’s competitive advantage and the work is accomplished in flexible ways that create an effective environment.
If you or your organization is doing the work and has a great story to tell, we strongly encourage you to submit a nomination.

All nominations are due on or by September 15, 2023.
It is the intent of the Wisconsin SHRM State Council to recognize and share these best practices so other organizations can learn and benefit from the shared knowledge.
