Mid-Year Message from State Director Jackie Peterson
As we head into the second half of 2022, I would like to thank all of the volunteer leaders throughout the State of WI for their dedicated and impactful work to help elevate the HR Profession!! There are so many amazing initiatives and programs being provided by our 19 Chapters throughout the state. For those of you who attended the Volunteer Leader Conference in La Crosse, you were able to experience first-hand the energy and excitement that we collectively bring as HR Professionals. The conference provided both new and veteran volunteers the opportunity to learn about Marketing, Finance, working with Volunteer Challenges and helping New Volunteers navigate their way. Jenny Locanthi, SHRM Field Services provided insight into the SHRM structure and resources that are available. We also had the opportunity to present the Agility Award to the Green Bay Area Chapter of SHRM for their student mentorship program and the Lifetime Leader Award to Mary Vogl-Rauscher who has positively impacted the lives of so many students and HR Professionals throughout her career.
The next opportunity to share in the excitement will be the WI SHRM 2022 State Conference October 12-14 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The conference committee will again offer a hybrid event, with both in-person and virtual experiences. Whether you attend virtually, in-person, or a combination of both, there will be a variety of sessions to increase your HR knowledge and provide credits toward certification or re-certification. Thank you to all our volunteers for their time and talents in planning these events.
Jackie Peterson, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
