New SHRM Recertification PDC Option – Earn Recertification PDCs for COVID-19 Work
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many HR professionals have dedicated uncountable hours supporting their organizations’ and communities’ COVID-19 needs.  SHRM has acknowledged this difficult, ground-breaking work and recently introduced a new recertification PDC option related to COVID-19.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential holders who are working toward recertification can now earn all 60 PDCs for their work in the area of COVID-19. Possible frameworks for documenting your activities could include:
  • Communicable disease exposure issue and quarantine pay
  • Essential business and essential workers (definitions, hazard pay, protecting workers in the public)
  • Return to work issues (recall, health screening/testing, social distancing, fear of returning to work)
  • Transitioning to a virtual workforce (telework, addressing employees who are unable to telework, keeping employees engaged).

To take advantage of this opportunity, all you need to do is summarize your activities using this COVID-19 Response Summary Form and follow the instructions to redeem the credits.

Please note that one of the requirements for earning credits is that certificants must attend at least one chapter or state council COVID-19-specific program and document it on the summary form. In support of this requirement, please make sure you have provided an activity code for all the chapter or state council’s COVID-19-related programming.  More details on this program can be found at HERE at SHRM.org.

While this new program has been created to support the COVID-19 work of HR professionals, please continue to support our 19 local SHRM chapters and WISHRM as we continue to bring you great seminars, workshops, E-Learnings, videoconferences, webcasts podcasts and the State Conference still scheduled to be held in October at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells.  These valuable educational programs will help you continue to not only earn recertification credits, but will also keep you up to date in the ever changing profession of Human Resources.
