Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the Assistant HR Director will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Office. Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and operational support in all areas of human resources.

Consult with managers and supervisors on employee relations, recruitment strategies, and workforce development.

Lead benefit administration and wellness initiatives to support employee well-being.

Contribute to culture-building efforts and organizational improvement projects.

Assist with labor relations and negotiations with three (3) collective bargaining associations.

Support the HR Director on high-level, confidential initiatives and planning.

Ideal Candidate Profile
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Labor or Industrial Relations, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field.

Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources or benefits administration; public sector or municipal experience preferred.

Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP, NPELRA CLRP, or PSHRA-IPMA-CP/SCP are highly desirable.

Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training may be considered.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $78,246 - $88,027 DOQ. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications.

Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) participation.

Additional offerings include 457 deferred compensation, disability benefits, retiree health coverage, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Flexible, alternative work schedules and remote work opportunities are available for this position.

Total compensation (including salary and benefits) $93,000 - $118,000.
