A new year brings New Year's Resolutions. The most common personal resolutions are to be more health conscious, work out more, and spend more time with friends and family. But what about your professional life?
As HR professionals, there are many aspects of the workplace that you are responsible for. HR is constantly growing and becoming more important to organizations. In keeping with this growth, the new year creates a great reason to do better this year than the last for not only the HR department, but the organization.

If your chapter does not provide a certification study group, the Fox Valley SHRM chapter has opened their virtual study group to WISHRM chapter members for the spring testing window. The study group will be held virtually and will begin on February 21, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. for a 30-minute information session. The group will meet virtually every Tuesday for 11 weeks from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
If you are a member of FVSHRM, joining the study group is FREE. The cost of the SHRM learning system is $610 (discounted from $1,199). That’s a huge cost savings for joining their study group. If you are not a member of FVSHRM, you can join their study group for $25 which goes toward the FVSHRM scholarship fund. Because the HR profession is constantly changing and evolving, it is important to be certified or recertified to continually update your HR competencies and knowledge. Hopefully SHRM certification will be a successful resolution in 2023.
