Leading The Way Like A Superhero! 2020 Leadership Conference Recap
The conference opened with the theme from Superman and launched directly in the Opening Keynote Speaker Jessica Rector - Fire Up, Heroes, So You Don't Burnout: How to Prevent, Break Through, and Extinguish HR Burnout (and the Power of Resiliency). She addressed the many causes of burnout and how to navigate it, reduce stress and extinguish burnout! Then it was onto Core Leader Area Roundtable Breakouts and wrapped up the session with our SHRM Field Services Director, Susan Post.
Day Two kicked off with the theme from Batman and legislative updates and advocacy initiatives with Government Affairs Director, Jeff Palkowski. Conference Liaison Director, Janine Diana, led a Superhero discussion on Board Succession for Volunteer Leaders with panelists Sheree Yates, Choua Yang, and Kellie Dunn-Pogemann. A second session of CLA Roundtable Breakouts and a recap of Chapter highlights completed the session.
Day Three opened with the theme from Spiderman and a 3-way Breakout for Leadership Development with District Directors Jodi Wellhoefer and Jane Kurylo and State Director John Komosa. The Closing Keynote: Annie Meehan - H-Helper | E-Encourager | R-Real Relationships | O-Open to Honest Struggles and Emotion was uplifting, inspiring and good food for the soul! She showed every attendee how to be a HERO in HR and in life! The session wrapped with Foundation Impact by Foundation Director, Jen Zahari and thank you's to the Leadership Planning committee for all their work turning the conference virtual after the cancellation of an in-person meeting due to COVID-19.
