Biography

Ian Weide is Director of Business Development with SEEK Careers/Staffing and holds a CSP certification. He sits on the executive leadership board for the company and is involved in setting policy across the company. He studied at Cochise College in the flight program where he obtained his pilot’s license and was finishing up his commercial license when September 11th, 2001 happened. That event turned him in a new direction. After school, he entered the service industry and worked the next ten plus years in restaurants, going through each level of management and managing up to 130 people. This gave him great respect for the HR aspect of things as he was hiring, firing, coaching, counseling, and everything in between. After leaving the restaurant industry, Ian started his sales career at Pacific Seafood where he managed teams of merchandisers and a personal book of business of over 25 million. Ian moved his family back to Wisconsin about 8 years ago from the Seattle area because they wanted to be closer to family. He feels that his experience working for SEEK has made him uniquely suited for this role due to his sales experience and his connections across so many industries across the state. He has been involved on a board level for the Green Bay area SHRM for more than four years and is currently serving as Green Bay area chapter President. Within his time with SHRM he has helped to grow the SHRM Foundation message as well as fundraising and have been a part of growing Foundation donations steadily to number two in the nation to this year spearheaded a chapter record for donations in which the Green Bay chapter hopes to be #1 in the entire nation! He has also consulted for the Foundation as a whole to give feedback to their future initiatives.  He truly believes that the SHRM community provides many great partnerships, and he would love to be a part of helping them all succeed.
