HR Student Games Recap & 2024 Callie Zipple Scholarship Winner
On Wednesday, October 9, WI SHRM hosted its 2024 HR Student Games, sponsored by M3 Insurance, during the annual State Conference at the Kalahari. This event was exciting because it was an opportunity for us to convene with students, HR professionals, and those connected to WI SHRM for an afternoon of connection, games, a professional panel, networking, fellowship, a scholarship award, and cash prizes!
We hosted students from various colleges within the WI SHRM network, many of them registered to attend the full State Conference as both attendees and volunteers. This event opened with a welcome from our State Director Connie Bitter. We were able to celebrate the Student Merit awards received by WI SHRM, and held a moment to celebrate the following institutions that received honors:

The annual Student Chapter Merit Award program recognizes chapters for outstanding activities and projects by chapters in the following areas:
- Student Chapter Requirements
- Chapter Operations
- SHRM Engagement
- Chapter Programming and Professional Development of Members
- Support of the Human Resource Profession
We then hosted Round #1 of our Factile-style HR Games. Cash prizes were awarded to those who participated! Students were provided with a variety of HR-related questions based on various topics, such as employee and labor relations, DEI, and Training and Development.
This was then followed by College Relations Director-Elect, Emily Blakeslee serving as our panel moderator as we discussed best practices, career lessons, and opened space for the audience to make connections to their current experiences. A special thank you to the following individuals who volunteered their time as a panelist.

We then hosted the 2024 Callie Zipple Scholarship reveal in which Giang Pham was named our 2024 Winner! We had several submissions from public and
private institutions in Wisconsin. Giang shared, “The Callie Zipple scholarship isn’t just financial support; it is a way to express my passion for the HR field and show my commitment to pursuing a meaningful career.” WI SHRM is elated to have Giang as our fourth winner of this award.
