Callie Zipple Student Scholarship Winner Announced!
WI SHRM is proud to have hosted our annual HR Student Games in conjunction with the State Conference on Wednesday, October 12. We had a fantastic evening connecting with SHRM professionals attending the conference as well as current college affiliated SHRM students from all across Wisconsin. Our students who registered to attend, participated in two sessions of a virtual Kahoot competition where prizes galore were given, with $500 cash going to our first runner up for both rounds! We culminated our time together in the announcement of our 2022 Callie Zipple Scholarship recipient.
Amanda Wciorka, our first ever recipient of the Callie Zipple Scholarship which WI SHRM awarded to her at the 2021 HR Games was live at the event to pass the torch to our next winner! Before her formal announcement, Amanda was able to share how the scholarship provided her further opportunity as she advances in her work in HR and how she has grown in her knowledge and interest in the industry overall.
WI SHRM was also honored to have Mary Cheddie, Divisional Director for SHRM National, and former supervisor of Callie Zipple present to provide a welcome and introduce the tribute video our scholarship honoree, Callie who the award was named for, in tribute, following her battle with cancer that ended in 2019.
We are proud to announce that our 2022 Callie Zipple Scholarship winner is Jennifer Mouzch!
Jennifer got connected to Human Resources following a previous career in healthcare. Jennifer earned her associate’s degree in Human Resources from Fox Valley Technical College, and she is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where she is pursuing a Bachelors of Human Resources Management.
In addition, Jennifer serves as the Co-President of UWGB Student SHRM Chapter and she is currently working as an HR assistant with the city of Oshkosh.
WISHRM is hopeful this $1,500 scholarship will be helpful to Jennifer as she continues her education in the field of Human Resources. Congrats Jennifer!
Thank you to both Amanda and Mary for sharing sentiments around Callie and all of those students who participated, applied for the scholarship and were present at the State Conference.
