2016 HR Games and Student Conference Recap
On behalf of the Wisconsin State Council and Lakeshore Technical College, THANK YOU to all the participants and volunteers in the 2016 HR Games and Student Conference. Lakeshore Technical College hosted a great event filled with fierce competition, lively entertainment, lots of networking opportunities, some pretty awesome raffle prizes, and a motivating conference with passionate speakers.
20 teams competed from nine Wisconsin schools with nearly 100 total attendees! The 2016 HR Game winners are:
1st Place UW-Eau Claire “Job Seekers”
2nd Place Blackhawk Technical College “SHRMies”
3rd Place UW Whitewater “SHRMinators”
4th Place UW Oshkosh “SHRManator”

Bid to Host 2017 HR Games and Student Conference (Due 04/30/2016)
Is your student chapter interested in hosting the two day 2017 HR Games and Student Conference? Then be sure to complete and submit the attached 2017 Bid Proposal by Saturday, April 30, 2016!
There are many benefits to hosting the HR Games and Student Conference. This event offers the opportunity to bring significant recognition to your school, community and chapter in addition to bringing professional chapter volunteers, students and student chapter advisors together in a meaningful way. The effort it takes to plan and conduct the games is worthwhile and beneficial to you, your peers, and the professional members that volunteer and participate in this energizing event. It is also an excellent resume builder!
2015-2016 Merit Award (Due to SHRM 04/15/2016)
The annual Student Chapter Merit Award program recognizes chapters for outstanding activities and projects by chapters in Student Chapter Requirements, Chapter Operations, Chapter Programming and Professional Development of Members, Support of the Human Resource Profession, and SHRM Engagement.
SHRM Submission Deadline is Friday, April 15th, 2016. Online workbook can be located at
www.shrm.org/students. You must be a SHRM member to submit your chapter’s Merit workbook.
BONUS! $100 is awarded to each student chapter that submits a fully completed 2015-2016 Merit Award application receipt to Ashly Woosypiti, WISHRM College Relations Director (

Student Night hosted by GMA SHRM (04/28/2016)
On Thursday, April 28th, GMA SHRM is Hosting an All Student Night Out, in partnership with UW SHRM, for all interested SHRM student members in the state to participate in a professional networking event with student peers and industry professionals.
The event will be held from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the Café at Grainger Hall on University Avenue. A resume book will be created to assist all student job seekers and will be made available to any interested SHRM member to identify candidates for internship and employment opportunities. The Keynote Speaker for the event is Deirdre Hargrove-Kreighoff, Human Resources Executive Director for the Madison Metropolitan School District.

Wisconsin State Council SHRM - 2016 Leadership Conference
Join us on August 11 & 12, 2016 in the Wisconsin Dells at Great Wolf Lodge

Kick Start Your HR Career with the Assurance of Learning
Passing the SHRM Assurance of Learning Assessment for Graduating HR Students and being able to add a Certificate of Learning to your résumé gives you credibility and validates your HR expertise and job readiness to potential employers. This extra validation increases your appeal as a job candidate and puts you a step ahead in the HR job market competition.
