Description: The UW-Madison Division of Information Technology (DoIT) has an opening for a Recruitment Specialist! This is a fast paced and exciting position in a flexible work environment, supporting work units within DoIT. Position Description:
Under general supervision, this position will serve as a Recruitment Specialist and will have responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment, assessment, and selection processes for all appointment types; staff analysis; compensation analysis and processes; process improvement and professional development.

The incumbent is expected to demonstrate exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with administrators, support units, colleagues, and other customers. The incumbent is expected to function with a high degree of independence and will routinely interpret and apply a broad-based knowledge of complex human resources laws, regulation, policies, and procedures, in coordination with the UW Madison Office of Human Resources, state and federal guidelines for affirmative action, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Employment Opportunity Act (EEO), and other state and federal employment laws.

The incumbent is expected to exercise exceptional organizational and communication skills and to promote a business-partner approach to human resources administration. This position may lead the work of other human resources staff in the facilitation and execution of various tasks.

Performs full life-cycle recruiting. Develops recruitment plans, sources and recruits, screens and recommends prospective candidates for hire to promote the recruitment of a diverse and inclusive workforce while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
 

  • 5% Sources, recruits, interviews, and recommends external and internal candidates for hire
  • 10% Analyzes, compiles, and disseminates recruitment records according to established policies and procedures
  • 15% Serves as a subject matter expert and liaison to management to provide advice on recruitment best practices and disseminate applicable policies and procedures
  • 50% Processes lifecycle recruitment transactions in various mediums to ensure accurate and timely entry of necessary information as required by established rules and regulations
  • 10% Serve as a resource for titling and compensation programs and structures
  • 5% Provide support to the AHRD and HR staff, coordinating with SMEs, completing annual projects, performing general human resource management activities and other assignments.
  • 5% Apply knowledge and application of EID principles in completion of work.
Required Qualifications:
-Professional experience working in the one or more of the areas of job titling, recruitment, and compensation
-Demonstrated ability and experience applying human resources principles and practices such as recruitment and selection laws and rules and procedures, such as the University of Wisconsin Madison policies and procedures.
-Demonstrated experience using technical systems (i.e., applicant tracking systems, HRIS, other HR systems) for the purposes of recruitment entry, approval, tracking, and communications.
-Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-Demonstrated experience in organizing, planning, and establishing priorities in varied and complex tasks

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working with UW Madison systems, policies, and processes in the areas of titling, recruitment, and compensation. UW-Madison Human Resources applications such as: PVL, TREMS, JEMS, HRS.
-Experience and interest in sourcing hard to fill positions and/or those requiring unique or niche skills.
-Demonstrated experience in organizing, planning, and establishing priorities in varied and complex tasks
-Strong analytical and decision-making skills
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills
 
The candidate selected for this position will initially perform a combination of on-site and remote work subject to an approved remote work agreement (RWA) agreement, which is reviewed and approved annually. In the future, this position will likely perform a combination of onsite and remote work. Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a University provided computer.

Minimum Starting Salary $55,000/yr (Full time / Exempt)
