WI SHRM Is Excited to Accept Nominations for the Annual Inclusion, Belonging, and Access Award

Each year, the Wisconsin SHRM State Council recognizes an organization for its efforts and accomplishments in the areas of inclusion and belonging. The 2025 award, named the WI SHRM State Council Inclusion, Belonging, and Access Award, is presented annually at the WI SHRM State Conference, held in October at the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
The 2025 WI SHRM Inclusion, Belonging, and Access Award will honor a Wisconsin organization that demonstrates measurable progress or outcomes in inclusion, belonging, and access for all in a manner that aligns with the SHRM BEAM (Belonging Enhanced by Access through Merit) framework for inclusion. The Council seeks to recognize an employer who actively bridges the gap, elevates equity using a merit lens, achieves measurable outcomes, and models inclusion in their workplaces and communities. This employer leads with purpose and action to build inclusive, accessible cultures where everyone belongs. The SHRM BEAM framework, which is the foundation for our 2025 award, is built on four core principles:
- Using merit as the primary lens to eliminate bias.
- Expanding access to skilled talent from diverse and non-traditional sources.
- Continuously optimizing talent management through data and feedback.
- Embedding inclusion as a strategic operational goal.
The 2025 award nominations will be evaluated using these criteria, which account for recent executive orders and related actions that necessitated that organizations review their inclusion and diversity (I&D) strategies. (If your organization has questions regarding your current I&D strategies, consider reviewing this questionnaire designed by SHRM to help HR professionals evaluate how well their organization’s I&D or similar programs align with SHRM’s BEAM Framework. The framework contains a five-point review to ensure each program is anti-exclusionary, merit-driven, unbiased, and skills-focused, ultimately aiming to create equitable opportunities for all and drive organizational excellence.)
Though this year’s nomination criteria have been adjusted to align with changes in the political and legal environment, our goal is the same. WI SHRM is excited to honor an organization that fosters a culture that creates equitable opportunities for all that drive organizational excellence.
