Sun, Fun, and HR? Join us in February 2025 on the HR Conference Cruise
Wisconsin State Council SHRM is proud to join our fellow SHRM State Councils from Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan to host the 2025 HR Conference Cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas from February 22 to 27, 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for WI SHRM to partner with our other regional partners to provide another great HR conference experience for our members in addition to our other annual events. Since this is a new adventure for all of us, we assume that there may be some questions, so here are a few that we anticipated:

  • What is the HR Conference Cruise?
    • The HR Conference Cruise, a one-of-a-kind event that set sail in 2017 through a collaboration between the Ohio SHRM State Council and Aspect Marketing and Communications, offers a unique blend of professional development, networking, and leisure. It's an exclusive platform for HR professionals to gain valuable insights, earn SHRM and HRCI professional development credits, and connect with industry experts and peers while enjoying an unparalleled cruise experience.
  • Is the HR Conference Cruise for real?
    • Yes! This cruise will be the 13th HR Conference Cruise since 2017. Other states, including New York, Ohio, and Florida, have hosted similar cruises. Earlier this year, two HR Conference Cruises sailed in February and March with 40 and 100 attendees (plus guests), respectively.
  • What can we expect on the HR Conference Cruise?
    • The HR Conference Cruise provides learning sessions led by various professional speakers and industry experts covering many timely HR topics. Several speakers provide “land sessions” with webinars leading up to the cruise date. The remaining sessions are led onboard the ship in their expansive Conference Center. Approximately 15 credit hours for SHRM and HRCI recertification are provided. In addition, networking events, shared dining experiences, and other networking activities with other attendees and speakers help enhance the experience.
  • What is included with the HR Conference Cruise?
    • Along with the actual conference activities, you are sailing on a 5-night Caribbean cruise aboard the massive and recently refurbished Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas. The cruise leaves Port Canaveral, Florida, about 40 minutes east of Orlando International Airport. The cruise fare includes your private cabin, meals, world-class entertainment and activities, prepaid gratuities, and two ports of call. The cruise line also offers add-ons such as drink packages, shore excursions, specialty dining, and spa treatments. Travel to the cruise port and any pre-cruise hotel stays are not included.
  •  Why should I go on the HR Conference Cruise?
    • It is an experience like no other! Many attendees will travel with family or friends to combine professional development with a getaway vacation from the cold Wisconsin February weather. Conference sessions are held on two days while the ship is at sea, and the rest of the time can be enjoyed with both your fellow attendees and those you are traveling with. There are many returning HR Conference Cruise attendees on each cruise as they discovered a great way to gain knowledge, earn professional development credits, and enjoy a relaxing vacation all in one trip.
  • What should I do if I am interested in sailing on the HR Conference Cruise?
    • For more information and to secure your spot, visit the HR Conference Cruise web page. You will see current pricing for the conference registration and various price points for staterooms. A $100 per person deposit will secure your conference registration and stateroom, with the balance due by December 1, 2024. Considering all that you receive for the cost of this conference and cruise, you may find that it is great value when compared to the expense of other national HR events!

If you have any questions about the 2025 HR Conference Cruise, please feel free to contact Jeff Palkowski, Wisconsin State Council SHRM State Director-Elect, or Mike Medoro, Aspect Marketing & Communications.
