2020 WI SHRM Student Conference and HR Games Competition Registration is Open!
It's hard to believe the 2020 WI SHRM Student Conference and HR Games Competition is coming up fast! Volunteers have been hard at work planning an enjoyable, educational event. Organized as a jeopardy-like game, this friendly competition brings together students to test your HR knowledge, learn from each other, and have a lot of fun!
Conference - There will be some fantastic speakers during the conference on Saturday morning:
- Melissa Van Gheem, SHRM-SCP, Senior Director Human Resources at Festival Foods
- Ashley Foreman, MBA, PHR, Senior People Operations Business and Learning Partner at Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations
- Casey Meehan, Ph.D., Director of Sustainability and Resilience at Western Technical College
Additionally, there will be Chapter Advisors and volunteers that are in the HR field that will be in attendance and ready to share their time, talents, knowledge and expertise!
HR Games - The top prize is $400 for your chapter! Also up for grabs is $300, $200, and $100 in prizes for HR Games, along with other door prizes for conference participants!
We have several schools fielding teams this year - Lakeshore Technical College, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Stout to name few. Make sure your school is represented and register your team of 2-3 students today!
Registration is open now and will close on Friday, February 28th and the room block at the hotel ends on February 24th. It's very important to register prior to the deadline to assure we have adequate food, arrangements made and teams slotted. If you would like to attend but not compete, you are more than welcome to do so. You would still need to register for the event. There is no cost to register and it includes the games, the conference speakers, and all your meals (Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast and Saturday lunch) so your chapter is only responsible for the expense of travel arrangements.
Calling volunteers for the event! Our goal is 20 student teams and 45 volunteers to help with a variety of roles (judge, presenter – think Alex Trebek, Timekeeper, and Scorekeeper) during the event. Our biggest volunteer need will be Friday evening between 5 and 10 pm.
