Human Resources Manager
Are you the type of professional looking to have a significant impact on shaping an ideal human resources process and to have a hands on impact on promoting a positive company culture?  If so, we have created a new position with you in mind.   With this newly created position, we are looking for a skilled Manager to oversee all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes.  As a key member of our management team, you will support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company HR strategy and objectives.  Our human resources function will promote corporate values and enable business success through effective recruitment of qualified job candidates, employee engagement, training & development, performance management, and employee retention.  

Position Summary: 
This position reports to the President/CEO.  The Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall development, implementation, administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

Job Responsibilities:   
  •  Manages the company’s human resources by developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices that align with the overall business strategy.
  • Manages and conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers to ensure an active pipeline of qualified potential job candidates; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  • Serves as a resource to department supervisors and managers to train and develop consistent practices relating to oversite of direct reports.  Ensures onboarding and staff development is effective across all departments. Evaluates and rewrites job descriptions as necessary.
  • Serves as an ambassador the for the company in developing relationships with colleges and other key hiring sources to develop and build a pool of future job candidates.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  • Oversee, manage, and monitor a performance management system that drives high performance.
  • Assist the executive team in promoting and enhancing a positive corporate culture consistent with established core values.
  • Manages and directs social media presence of the agency.
  • Consults legal and other outside resources to ensure that policies comply with all Local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Oversees all company employee benefit and wellness programs and make recommendations to President on enhancement opportunities.  
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  • Conducts annual salary and benefit surveys, makes recommendations for adjustment in total compensation program, and oversees variable pay/bonus program based upon individual and company performance.   
  • Ability to offer a consultative role to support the organization value added services to clients and/or perspective clients.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree and five years of human resource experience, or nine years of experience in the HR field
  • 3 to 5 years of HR supervisory experience

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential
  • HRCI Certified Professional (PHR) or HRCI Senior Professional (SPHR)

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
 
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may be expected. A valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR are required for the position.
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position requires long hours and weekend work when necessary.
