Program Overview & Learning Objectives | |
Program Overview: | “But I’m not Comfortable with Conflict: From Conflict Avoidance to Conflict Capable†This session will address the “business critical skill†of working effectively with others – in particular when needing to address conflict and engage in uncomfortable conversations with co-workers. Conflict avoidance impacts the individual, supervisor, work team and ultimately the bottom line of the organization as work-arounds and passive-aggressive approaches lead to hurt feelings, poor morale, inefficiencies, absences, and staff leaving. Creating clear expectations, supporting and training staff, and holding all accountable to engaging in honest and constructive dialogue among team members will be the focus of this session. |
Learning Objective 1: | Review the business case for organizations to hold all employees and departments accountable to addressing conflict effectively. |
Learning Objective 2: | Explore relevant concepts related to conflict including types of conflict, consequences of poor conflict management, and barriers to addressing conflict effectively. |
Learning Objective 3: | Provide concrete suggestions for addressing conflict effectively at the organization, supervisor, and employee level. |
