Description: Prairie States Enterprises, Inc. (PSE) is a third-party administrator, a benefits industry leader, and a trusted advisor to self-insured companies and their employees in providing superior self-funded benefit plan administration and wellness services for the past 3+ decades seeks to fill the position of Human Resources Manager.

The Human Resources Manager is an integral member of our Leadership Team and reports directly to our President.   The selected individual will provide HR Leadership to PSE management and organizationally aligns HR strategy and execution in supporting the business toward meeting organizational objectives.  The Human Resources Manager leads the development and implementation of HR strategies, programs, policies and practices in the areas of staffing, compensation and benefits, talent and performance management, employee engagement, professional development, and wellness culture facilitation.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•  Establishes partnership with PSE leaders as their HR Business Partner by leveraging knowledge of the business and its culture, talent requirements, and existing talent to deliver impactful HR solutions.  Provides expertise with respect to people management including recruiting and retention, performance/talent management to ensure maximum organizational stability and growth as it relates to achievement of goals.
•  Supports PSE management by providing human resource consult in decisions affecting the business.
•  Consults with PSE leaders to ensure that the human resources strategy and programs are effectively implemented in their areas of responsibility.
•  Provides HR perspective and solutions to business challenges (i.e.  organizational changes, regulatory changes industry changes, etc.).  Communicates a point of view that reflects the HR implications of business decisions to PSE and employees.  Identifies problems that affect the business, predicts potential obstacles to success and provides recommendations toward potential solutions.
•  Develops human resources operational strategies by forecasting requirements, trends, and vacancies; aligning financial resources; developing and executing actions plans.
•  Provides employee relations coaching and counsel to ensure consistency of policy and practice to preserve the health of the employer/employee relationship.
•  Leads and facilitates the wellness culture initiatives and fosters internal client ownership of the process toward the ongoing attainment of the WELCOA Well Workplace Award.
•  Applies an understanding of employment law, regulations, policies and practices to protect the interests of both the organization and individual employees.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Business-Related Degree.
Experience 
Possesses 5-8 years of progressive human resources experience, with two to five years in an HR Generalist role.  Significant knowledge in 2-3 HR core functions (Recruitment/Staffing, Employee Relations, Training, Benefits, Performance Management, Professional Development) and experience working with clients as an internal consultant.  Insurance or Health Care industry experience highly preferred.

Specific Technical Knowledge and or Certifications related to the Position
Professional (PHR) or Senior Professional (SPHR) in Human Resources Certification and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP from the Society for Human Resource Management highly preferred.
Specific Technical Position Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite) to perform the essential functions of this position.
HRIS system knowledge required for Human Resources to support the information technology needs of the organization.
