As an experienced member of the Human Resources consulting team, the HR Business Partner provides excellent service by being responsive to the needs of external and internal partners, including clients, co-employed staff, and internal staff and managers, and by providing proper guidance and information related to employment. The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for a variety of specific human resource activities, including but not limited to: HR consultation and compliance for clients, benefits support, talent management, general human resources administration, and training and other meeting facilitation.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Job Duties:
1. Provide excellent service by being responsive to the needs of external and internal partners, including clients, co-employed staff, vendors, and internal staff and managers, and by providing proper guidance and information related to employment.

Follow established new client onboarding processes and procedures to ensure a smooth transition to TEG services when participating in new client onboarding activities.

Provide new clients with the appropriate training and tools on TEG co-employment services.

Develop HR strategies and practices that reflect a deep understanding of the individual client’s business culture and objectives.

Maintain continuous open communication with clients and internal staff regarding clients’ needs and expectations to ensure client satisfaction. Communicate progress on each project to the client and internal staff as needed.

Ensure client contact is appropriate based on HR department’s requirements and client’s expectations.

Keep client management system up-to-date with client interactions, updated contact information, and correspondence.

Collaborate with TEG management and internal team members in assessing risks and benefits related to employment practices.

Maintain general working knowledge of the employee benefits and other services offered by TEG by participating in cross-training and other learning opportunities.

Stay current on HR practices and legal compliance and share knowledge accordingly.

Actions taken on behalf of TEG reflect and deliver upon TEG’s mission, vision, and values.
2. Effectively complete a variety of human resources activities.

Inform clients of standard legal employment compliance and ensure they are meeting those requirements in applicable employment law (policies, postings, etc.) and applicable employment practices.

Maintain electronic and paper files records according to company procedures.

Ensure new hire paperwork and other employment paperwork is properly completed and filed.

Create new client employee handbooks and revise current client employee handbooks on a regular basis and/or when required.

Assist in developing written policies, job descriptions, and other customized written employment materials for clients and for the company’s internal use.

Conduct recruitment activities for clients and keep them current on progress.

Provide training to clients and employees on employment matters both in person and electronically.

Assist clients with compensation planning and management.

Provide counsel to clients on talent management issues, including, but not limited to: candidate selection, performance management, discipline, and termination.

Stay current on TEG’s benefit programs and answer questions from clients and co-employees in a timely and effective fashion.

Ensure co-employee changes are forwarded to the appropriate internal HR team member and are processed within corresponding legal time requirements.

Resolve any payroll/benefits discrepancies by partnering with TEG payroll and benefits departments.

Assist clients in navigating and responding to workers’ comp and unemployment insurance claims.

Conduct grievance investigations with staff and client personnel.
3. Other duties as assigned and available.

Actively participate in meetings, training, and workgroups.

Develop content and manage HR information on company Intranet, portal, and web pages.

Provide news feed drafts on schedule and/or as requested.

Provide back-up support to other HR team members when requested and/or needed.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Associate’s degree in related field or commensurate experience
-
Minimum of five years of HR Generalist experience, including a combination of experience providing HR consultation to a diverse internal or external customer base. Human Resources related professional certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of employment

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local human resource-related laws, regulations, and rules

Proven success in managing HR related projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines

Excellent communication skills to include writing, speaking and the ability to adapt communication style to fit the situation and audience

Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to plan and coordinate work independently. balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and databases
