Position functions as the lead Human Resources administrator in a department of one providing HR support and advisor to plant management and being a knowledge resource for HR for 120+ employees. Recruits for and onboards new talent. Implements policies relating to all phases of human resources activities as directed by corporate leadership. Incumbent reports to and coordinates with VPHR/HRBP to implement strategic and functional initiatives. Administers benefit programs and coordinates with Accounting on payroll processing. Participates in and locally manages HRIS/technology initiatives. Coordinates with other HR team members on learning initiatives and administration. Maintains employee records, prepares budget, and investigates accidents for insurance purposes. Priorities include Recruiting, employee relations, benefit administration, recognition, benefits and morale and welfare programming.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruits for all levels of plant positions using all available resources and reports on progress toward hiring goals

Conducts onboarding and new employee orientation

Resolves routine employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations

Ensures payroll transactions are properly and accurately recorded and communicated to Corporate HR and Accounting
-
Maintains files and records for insurance coverages, 401k, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, termination, and other employee related records

Assists with Safety program management and investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier

Assist with preparation of annual budget for areas of responsibility and monitors expenditures of funds

Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations

Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism, tardiness, and turnover

Represents organization at personnel related hearings and investigations

Work effectively as a team member with other members of plant management and the human resources staff

Coordinates with other Field HR Managers in HR program areas and employee relations.

Implements and supports strategies to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

Supports GSP University learning and development programs to build employee capabilities, administers LMS site locally, delivers training, develops reporting, coordinating with Talent Development Manager on these tasks.

Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee morale and welfare events, measuring their participation and effectiveness

Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation

Participates in development of communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of general information

Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor's Degree in business, HR, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three or more years of experience in a human resources administration or manager role

Experience managing human resources in a manufacturing, digital environment desired

Experience with HR systems including HRIS, Payroll and Timekeeping technologies, Paylocity experience desired

Advanced ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English

Knowledge and ability to proofread copy and data

Knowledge of HRIS and other HR and payroll technology systems

Knowledge of benefits administration and payroll practices including plan design

Proficiency with PC's to include knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), maintaining data bases, generating information and tracking status using proprietary software

Ability to produce detailed reports, particularly in Excel

Ability to build effective relationships at all levels in the organization

Travel demands:
Travel 10%: Candidate must be able to commute within own metro area and travel to other GSP sites as needed.
