Description: CoVantage Credit Union, a $2.2 billion financial institution with over 400 employees at 20 locations, is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources team. This individual will contribute to compensation management, policy development, talent acquisition, and benefits plan selection as well as serves as a professional resource for employees ensuring CoVantage remains a desirable place to work. Job Duties
  • Provides guidance on matters related to performance management to assist managers in documenting performance in a manner that is fair and accurate
  • Oversees the timely and accurate processing of payroll, benefit enrollment, and recruiting assistance to hiring managers
  • Ensures the quality and accuracy of data utilized for reporting and tracking key metrics
  • Maintains a high-level working knowledge of the HRIS, performance management, and other software or web-based solutions utilized by the human resources team
  • Keeps abreast of current and emerging legislation and regulations related to employment and ensures the credit union remains compliant
  • Works to ensure the credit union remains a good place for people to work including ensuring an equitable distribution of pay that; conducting timely, effective performance appraisals; working to develop staff; and encouraging two-way communication
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent experience; PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years human resource experience with a focus on recruiting, selecting, interviewing, pre-employment testing, on-boarding, and performance management; 5 years preferred
  • Strong working knowledge, and the ability to apply and interpret, state and federal laws and regulations as they pertain to the human resource function
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in direct, professional contact with a wide variety of people on a daily basis
  • High level of hands-on experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software programs
  • Ability to apply independent decision making regarding employment, disciplinary, and other personnel related matters
  • Proven ability to maintain confidential employee information
