Biography: | Bob Vanourek is a popular speaker, leadership author, and the former CEO of five companies from a start-up to a $1 billion New York Stock Exchange company, where he lead an ethical and financial turnaround to the tune of $100MM in just over three years. In addition, Bob was an officer at two Fortune 500 firms, including Pitney Bowes, one of Jim Collins’ “good to great” companies. His businesses have won numerous awards, including a state-level Malcolm Baldrige Quality Prize and the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence, and Bob has served on numerous boards. Bob is co-author the five-star rated book, Triple Crown Leadership: Building Excellent, Ethical, and Enduring Organizations, an International Book Awards winner that has been called “the best leadership book since Good to Great”. Bob has taught leadership at the University of Denver and Colorado Mountain College and is Chairman Emeritus of the Vail Leadership Institute. He is a Baker Scholar graduate (top 5%) of the Harvard Business School, a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University, has attended Harvard’s Kennedy School for teaching leadership, was certified by Phi Theta Kappa as a leadership instructor, and served as a decorated officer in the U.S. Army. Bob and his wife, June, have also won the Colorado Governor’s Award for Volunteer Service. Bob has been named one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior by Trust Across America in 2013 and 2014. |
