Program Overview & Learning Objectives | |
Program Overview: | We live in a time of great uncertainty. While the economy is coming back strong, the cumulative effects of an ever-increasing global economy, changing demographics of our talent pool, technological change and innovation, and new federal and state regulations continue to challenge HR’s ability to plan for the future. Scenario thinking offers a powerful framework for envisioning multiple possible futures for HR based upon the variability of such factors as company profitability, workforce readiness and availability, competition for talent, and regulatory challenges. In this session you’ll identify the two factors that are likely to have the greatest influence on HR’s relevance and effectiveness. You’ll also learn how to apply scenario thinking to uncover four possible HR futures – any one of which will enable you to stay aligned and responsive to your company’s strategy regardless of what happens within and outside the organization. |
Learning Objective 1: | Describe what scenario thinking is and how it differs from traditional strategic planning. |
Learning Objective 2: | Identify the two most critical factors you need to consider as you explore your possible HR future. |
Learning Objective 3: | Define four possible scenarios for your HR department that help ensure your relevance regardless of what happens inside or outside the company. |
