A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE PAYROLL SPECIALIST

This role is responsible for assisting with all aspects of processing payroll in an accurate and timely manner. The Payroll Specialist will interact with team members across the organization to research and analyze any questions or concerns and respond appropriately. Payroll includes regular bi-weekly and off-cycle processing of gain share, bonus, and special payments. This position will also provide key administrative assistance and support for Human Resources and Benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PAYROLL SPECIALIST

• 3-5 years of current experience in payroll processing
• ADP payroll system experience (within last five years) strongly preferred
• An Associate's Degree in Accounting is preferred but not required
• Superior attention to detail, accuracy is a must.
• Must be proficient in Excel and Outlook
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
• Ability to work in a deadline sensitive environment
• Sound understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws required
• Ability to communicate effectively written and verbal
• Possess sound judgment, planning, and exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent problem identification and resolving abilities
• Ability to collaborate and support managers and team members
• Adapt quickly and efficiently to new situations, effectively coordinate under pressure and deadlines
• Ability to research laws/guidelines and make recommendations to Payroll Leadership for applicable changes
