Description:

Under the general direction of the Human Resources Manager, this position coordinates the day-to-day Compensation, Benefits, Wellness and Leave of Absence activities for Lakeland Care, Inc. (LCI). This position is also responsible to plan and conduct new employee benefits orientation and annual enrollment activities. This role provides consultative services to leaders and employees regarding plans, policies and legal requirements. In addition, this position maintains financial oversight regarding accuracy of carrier/client billing and employee contributions and ensures automated benefit system is properly maintained.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Lead the daily administration and operation of Lakeland Care’s Benefits, Compensation, Wellness, and Retirement plans. Ensure compliance of all plans with LCI Policies and Procedures, and federal and state regulations including but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, and COBRA. Maintain Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Documents, Benefit Summaries and Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs). Work closely with benefit brokers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate billing, ACA reporting compliance, 5500 filings, IRS and DOL filings and audit responses, and all other benefit related compliance obligations.
  • Administer Leaves of Absences in accordance with policies and FMLA/ADA regulations. Collaborate with HR Generalists by providing information to support employment decisions when approved leave time is exhausted. Engage with employees in the interactive process for reasonable accommodations.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis for new positions, annual salary-planning and bi-annual study to ensure pay grades and salary ranges are reflective of external market salary data; recommend pay grade and salary range changes. Communicate and review compensation updates with leaders; provide guidance to resolve compensation concerns. Complete salary surveys with approved vendors and collaborate with Human Resources Manager when updated annual results are available.
  • Manage the LCI wellness program, including the implementation of existing and new initiatives to focus on employee health and ensure integration of the wellness program with the health plan. Promote engagement in program and coordinate wellness days including flu shot clinics, bio-metric screenings, lunch and learn seminars, etc.
  • Assist with evaluating market-competitive programs and benefits that attract, retain and engage talent and further LCI’s employer brand.
  • Prepare and distribute information to inform current and prospective employees about benefits and LCI benefits policies, including developing and conducting new hire orientation, annual benefit enrollment, and provide ongoing employee communication. Update and maintain the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) with relevant compensation and benefit content. Establish and maintain links to vendor websites.
  • Maintain and monitor vendor costs. Prepare and process monthly vendor billing in an efficient and timely manner; research and resolve outstanding and/or disputed issues. Provide input for vendor RFP process and selection.
  • Update, test and train on all payroll/HRIS changes and updates. Conduct bi-weekly payroll audit to ensure separation of duties.
