Description: The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR professional experienced in all areas of Human Resources including safety. Position is perfect for the person seeking a work / life balance which requires 24 hours per week on-site. American Printing is an award winning, full-service printing and communication company with 50+ employees located in the Madison area.

Summary:  Responsible for the development and adherence to human resource policies to maintain an equitable and safe work environment.  As a part of the Management Team, help create and support corporate values to build a sustainable workforce. 
  1. Responsible for HRIS system / Payroll database administration to ensure an accurate system for payroll, benefits, etc.  
  2. Recommend and administer health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations for health, Life, Disability, 401(k), etc.  Work with insurance agent on employee benefit insurance renewals with CEO approval.
  3. Lead and manage the recruitment process working with the management team to maintain fair and consistent recruitment practices.
  4. Overall responsibility for the Safety Program Compliance which includes government reporting related to OSHA and Workers Compensation claims. Chair the Safety Advisory Committee to meet established objectives. 
  5. Conduct annual training to remain compliant with requirements such as HIPAA/Business Associate; Confidentiality; safety programs such as LOTO, PPE, HAZCOM, Safety Incident reporting, Emergency Action Plan (EAP), forklift training, etc.
  6. Serve as the company representative for all sensitive employee relation issues such as but not limited to:  Equal Opportunity Compliance, Harassment, Discrimination, etc.
  7. Develop and implement company policies & procedures and related documents to meet current and anticipated needs to ensure compliance with all workplace legal requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and SPHR certification desired;
  • Experience in all areas of HR including HRIS/payroll database management and safety management;
  • Self starter who can work under minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated project management skills;
  • Working knowledge of employee benefit plans such as 401(k), health, life & disability insurance.
