Description: FTE: 1.0 . 12 month position
Hours Per Week: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Salary Range: $56,971 - $77,292
This position includes a full line of generous benefits including health, dental, life and Wisconsin Retirement System benefits.



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Supports the mission/vision of the district in carrying out the work of creating a thriving workforce.
  • Regularly communicates with principals and other hiring authorities on current or anticipated staffing needs.
  • Conducts phone and in-person interviews, collecting evidence to support candidate selection process, following best practices in screening/selection.
  • Facilitates interview & rubric development with job experts and hiring authorities.
  • Performs application review, screening processes, conducting reference checks, sending offer letters/packets, tracking incoming required paperwork, etc.
  • Provides assistance and coordination of budget/account management at the school/department level.
  • Serves as a point person for all HR related question for assigned schools/departments.
  • Provides support and assistance to current MMSD staff in understanding the staffing/screening/transfer process.
  • Provides assistance with Substitute hiring process.
  • Assists in the development of the MMSD Strategic Recruitment Plan main document and prepares reports as requested.
  • Assists with candidate engagement efforts by attending job fairs, conducting campus visits and maintaining continued communication with applicants.
  • Works closely with hiring authorities through annual budget/staffing cycle, including creation of annual staffing plans, review of teacher certifications and placement of excess staff.
  • Routinely monitors, analyzes and interprets data to report on hiring progress, foreshadow hiring needs and prevent hiring concerns.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Conduct and evaluate district fluency testing for bilingual positions. 
  • Participates on committees and special projects as assigned by the Director of Hiring and seeks additional responsibilities.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field or an equivalent combination of formal training and work experience with an emphasis in human resources, personnel management, or other related fields.
  • Three years of of human resource experience that include recruitment & selection responsibilities, building positive relationships with stakeholders, project management and measurable performance objectives or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated ability successfully analyze and interpret data to provide improved hiring strategies.
  • Demonstrated acute attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated solution orientation with a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive issues in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated proficency in verbal and written tranlslation in Spanish and English. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, applicant tracking systems, HRIS and Google Applications.
