SUMMARY
This position is all-encompassing with an emphasis on business partnership and providing generalist support to the GPSC, IT, Finance, and Marketing functions within the Defense Segment. Execute ongoing Human Resources projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Partner with Hiring Managers and the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence (COE) on recruitment needs and bringing top talent into the organization.
  2. Partner with functional leaders to ensure that our People First culture is being integrated into our business decisions and interactions with our team members at all levels of the organization.
  3. Build relationships and business understanding with functions by participating in staff meetings and other business-related activities. Use functional knowledge to make informed recommendations on function structure, bench strength, and other functional development. Gain connection and understanding of functions/people enterprise wide.
  4. As the primary HR Business Partner for team members in our Defense International offices, candidate will need to maintain a working knowledge of global trends in international labor laws and business environments to be able to make informed recommendations to the business on people matters for our team members working and traveling to these locations.
  5. Facilitate focus groups with Defense functional areas that are experiencing turnover and determine / implement action plans.
  6. Handle employee relations issues (performance improvement plans, warnings, terminations, coaching, etc.)
  7. Facilitate talent grading discussions / sessions with key functional areas.
  8. Provide support to hiring managers when temporary staffing needs arise, coordinating with the outside contracting agency for assistance
  9. Maintain files, forms, and database information associated with personnel, general information, and recruiting.
  10. Participate in efforts to evaluate and apply lean principles in areas of responsibilities.
  11. Research and involvement in other miscellaneous Human Resources projects as needed to include Feed Forward, Career Development teams, Engagement Survey, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 4-plus years related experience
  • Travel required (10-20%) to other locations and business units

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a team environment while organizing and prioritizing changing workloads
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
