If you are a motivated, detail oriented individual with outstanding interpersonal skills and a desire to help others; then we have the position for you! ATTIC Correctional Services is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team.
This position requires a strong generalist background with a thorough knowledge of employment law, recruiting, retention, employee relations and compliance. The qualified candidate should be comfortable operating as a department of two with responsibility for a wide range of human resources functions for a mid-size non-profit organization.
Flexibility and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at every level are essential. The successful candidate will have 5+ years in human resources positions demonstrating increasing responsibility including administration and management.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Oversees day-to-day responsibilities of the HR Generalist.

Ensures legal compliance with all applicable local, state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA and ADA, and AA to minimize risk/exposure to the agency.

Participates and administers the development and implementation of recruitment strategies and staffing levels, applicant evaluation, interview and select process, and related tasks.

Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.

Administers and track FMLA, Personal Leaves, STD, LTD, Accommodations, and Worker’s Compensation claims.

Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations. Partner with leaders to provide guidance on employee relations issues.

Maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

Maintains and reports on workplace health and safety compliance, including OSHA and workplace injury reports.

Serves as the agency’s HIPAA Privacy Officer and Affirmative Action Officer.
Education & Work Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or closely related field.

Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Certifications for HR Professionals (PHR, SPHR, CP, SCP) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.

Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, with good driving record.

Strong general business acumen.

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Additional experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

High degree of demonstrated decision making and problem solving.

Limited travel required.
