The Payroll Manager oversees a 9-person team and leads the TDS enterprise payroll functions. Through its family of companies: U.S. Cellular, TDS Telecom, OneNeck IT Solutions, BendBroadband and Suttle-Straus; TDS employs approximately 10,000 associates in over 35 states. This position is responsible for timely and accurate processing of all compensation related payments, including bi-weekly payroll, bonus, and incentive payments. The Payroll Manager also conducts strategic planning and leads large project initiatives related to the payroll function. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field -OR- 4+ years relevant technical and functional experience. • 6+ years Payroll or HRIS experience; including at least 2+ years direct supervisory experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Significant knowledge of payroll tax, wage and hour laws, and garnishment laws. • Knowledge of current payroll policies, standard practices, laws, regulations, and the ability to apply them accurately and consistently. • Demonstrated experience with large process improvement and/or organizational efforts; including proven ability to set and implement a strategy and course of action for a team. • Proficient with databases and HRIS systems, SAP preferred. • Knowledge of payroll processes and HRIS analysis and reporting. • Ability to learn new technologies, processes, and practices quickly. • Strong analysis and problem solving skills • Ability to identify risks, opportunities, cost effective solutions, and champion implementation • Proven ability to handle confidential information and multiple high priority projects / work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. • Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.
