The HR Business Partner, Manufacturing will make Robbins successful by serving as a consultant to operations management on HR related issues and act as an employee champion and change agent.  You will be hands on in the various critical human resource functions including recruitment, employee relations, safety, organizational development, compensation and benefits.  The HR Business Partner communicates proactively with the Corporate HR department and the management team and works collaboratively to develop and execute short and long term strategic initiatives to drive high performance and continuous improvement.

POSITION TITLE:                HR Business Partner, Manufacturing
 
REPORTS TO:                     VP, Manufacturing and Corporate HR Manager
 
LOCATION:                          White Lake, WI (Ishpeming, MI and Kenton, MI)
                                
 
Essential Functions:
  • Serve as trusted advisor and business partner to the Vice President of Manufacturing, Plant Managers and Supervisors
  • Serve as the voice of operations to management at the corporate level including HR, Accounting, etc.
  • Accountable for implementing plans and tactics that elevate the talent capability of the operations while ensuring the plants have the resource capability and bench strength to achieve business goals and growth strategies
  • Improve organizational results by measuring and assessing performance and effectively implementing innovative solutions
  • Lead effective change management practices
  • Actively participate in Labor and Employee Relations matters impacting plant performance
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation and stay abreast of employment law, changes in accepted practices and policy impact

  • Effectively work with all levels of the organization both in the operations locations as well as with the corporate office and functions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Display good judgment and decision making skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong professional maturity
 
Qualifications include:
  • BS Degree in HR, Business, or related field – equivalent experience will be considered
  • Manufacturing experience and awareness of union and non-union manufacturing environments
  • 5+ years of meaningful work experience
  • Ability to travel 20-25%  - primarily to manufacturing locations in Michigan but also to Corporate office in Cincinnati, Ohio
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment resembles that of a typical manufacturing environment regularly requiring the employee to sit, stand, walk, stoop and use office equipment and computer with related tools.  Employee may be required to lift, carry, and package items weighing up to 30 pounds.  Regularly exposed to production machinery, moving parts and equipment. Regularly exposed to dusty and high noise environments that may require use of personal protective equipment, including hearing or eye protection.
