Description: The School of Medicine and Public Health HR team is seeking an experienced HR professional to serve in the pivotal role of Recruitment Manager. In addition to managing our Leadership searches, this position will provide guidance to other HR professionals in relation to recruitment as well as develop policies and best practices for our school!
 
The Recruitment Manager provides high quality, professional human resource recruitment consulting services to hiring managers and HR business partners for UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). The position, as the School's recruitment process owner, provides guidance and communication regarding recruiting practices, policies, and procedures that ensure consistency, compliance, and transparency. This position will also manage leadership recruitments.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct work experience in a human resources role; where recruitment was a key responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations/policies/laws including Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative action, FLSA, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Windows, Outlook, Word PowerPoint, Excel)
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with UW-Madison recruiting/selection, hiring and compensation policies and procedures.
  • Experience recruiting staff and faculty in a higher education or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding through direct work experience with innovative recruitment and sourcing strategies
  • Good knowledge of human resource administration of compensation and recruiting practices.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience developing or redesigning a recruitment process.
Must have the ability to work collaboratively with others. Must have proficiency working with the web, databases and spreadsheets, as well as word processing and electronic mail. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Creativity and resourcefulness needed to be able to handle various HR issues and concerns effectively while maintaining confidentiality; the ability to problem solve and resolve conflict; the ability to research, analyze and interpret data; the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing; the ability to anticipate needs and follow through; ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask, prioritize, and disseminate information accurately in a fast paced environment; excellent judgment and demonstrate strong initiative and energy, as well as a cooperative spirit.
