Description: Position Summary
The Center for Advanced Studies in Business, Inc. (CASB) is an independent 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB). CASB provides non-credit continuing education and consulting to businesses and professionals in the process of a transition. CASB’s mission is to provide customers with the skills and resources to make business transformation and professional transition successful.
CASB is the term applied to the non-profit entity. The “public face” of CASB is called the Center for Professional and Executive Development or CPED which is used for all marketing purposes.
The Vice President of Learning and Development (VPLD) position is a full-time salaried position that is responsible for managing CPED’s intellectual resources/products and maximizing the profitability of our product portfolio. In addition, the VPLD will be responsible for ensuring our products are well aligned with client needs and business strategy. The role will own the development and on-going management, policies and practices of all open enrollment programing and related certificates and all custom programing and related consulting work. This position reports to the President of CASB/Executive Director of CPED.
This position interfaces considerably with the WSB. CPED’s business strategy is part of the school’s strategy and this role will be responsible for leading opportunities to expand collaboration with WSB.
 
The Key Selection Criteria to be Considered for this Role are …
1.      Demonstrated experience building, accessing, and deploying a wide network of instructors/faculty, coaches, and consultants to meet customer needs.
2.      Demonstrated expertise in program and curriculum design, with a proven track record in the virtual learning space.
3.      A proven track record working with and consulting to the c-suite of organizations both large and small.
4.      A deep knowledge of best practices in leadership and management, both as a practitioner and a provider.
 
In this position, you will:
·        Partner with our Executive Director, Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Vice President of Finance and Operations to formulate an overall product strategy and development process, focused on the long-term needs of our target clients.
·        Partner with clients including business and HR/talent leaders to support their Talent and Organization Strategy, focused on the long-term organizational and talent capabilities needed to drive the business strategies of their organization.
·        Lead a team of professionals that have product development and management accountability.
·        Conduct needs assessments, oversee curriculum development and evaluate our products.
·        Ensure consistency/stability of our products to deliver superior client experiences (including the branding of our products/materials).
·        Develop CPED’s intellectual property strategy and policies to protect our assets.
·        Recruit, hire, onboard and monitor quality/engagement of faculty.
·        Support sales efforts by providing subject matter expertise and faculty referrals to our Sales Team.
·        Oversee the development of a CPED Virtual Learning strategy and implementation/launch.
·        Participate in our “Voice of Client” Advisory Boards to anticipate emerging product needs in our target market.
·        Lead the development for new CPED learning products and services consistent with our mission and business development strategy. 
·        Evolve coaching and assessment services to ensure a consistent and impactful experience for all clients.
·        Develop and deliver key metrics around product efficiency and effectiveness.
·        Establish a CPED internal staff learning and development plan/approach.
·        Work with Marketing, Operations and Building Leadership and Teams to promote our brand and ensure excellent guest/client experiences.
·        Collaborate with other UW-Madison schools and centers that do professional development programming to share best practices, uncover new program ideas, identify new faculty, programming partnerships and more.
·        Ongoing familiarity with best practices and networks with key external business, human resource and learning leaders to stay on the cutting edge of the Learning and Development, Talent Management, Career Development and Performance Management disciplines.
 
Qualifications:
·        A Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Industrial/Organization Psychology, Behavioral Science or related field is required.
·        At least 10 years as a senior-level talent management and learning leader (CLO preferred).
·        Experience building high performance teams and leading through others to implement major solutions, requiring ownership, buy-in, and support
·        Experience working directly with CEO and Senior Business Leaders on major talent initiatives.
·        Experience working within large organizations, recognized for developing talent and contributing best practices in the talent space.
·        Experience designing and implementing innovative enterprise-level talent management and learning programs.
·        Demonstrated ability to flex style and solutions to the needs of the organization or environment.
·        Passion for innovation with a sense of urgency.
·        Familiarity with the concepts and practices of adult learning and its application to the workplace.
·        Knowledge of the processes, tools, and techniques for developing a solution to stated learning needs.
·        Knowledge of the approaches, tools and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others.
Starting Compensation Range:  $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 with generous benefit package
