Description: Realtime Utility Engineers, Inc. (RUE) is a consulting engineering firm providing Substation and Transmission Line Engineering, as well as field services such as commissioning, testing and construction project management, to electric utilities nationwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are currently seeking an HR Generalist based out of our Madison, WI office. The position will provide human resource expertise and carry out responsibilities on a professional level in the functional areas of (not limited to): recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, training, organizational development, records management, file management, and onboarding. 
·         Administers various human resources plans and procedures; assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures; assists with the preparation and maintenance of the employee handbook
·         Participates in the recruiting function by updating job descriptions, coordinating job postings with management, contacting potential candidates, coordinating with recruitment firms where needed, scheduling interviews,  conducting reference checks, and maintaining the company’s applicant tracking system
·         Conducts new employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks
·         Administers company benefit plans by entering new hire enrollments, fielding employee questions, and providing claim assistance as needed
·         Maintains accurate and complete employee files
·         Employee relations counseling, disciplinary discussions, and exit interviewing
·         Serves as a resource for accounting/payroll contacts to answer payroll questions
·         Maintains compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning employment
·         Other duties as required
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or equivalent degree, is required.  A minimum of 5 years’ Human Resources experience is required; experience in technical recruiting preferred; PHR preferred.
 
Possess skills in the following areas:                                           
·         Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources
·         Prior experience in employment law and government compliance regulations
·         Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
·         Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
·         Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing 
·         Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization
·         Strong problem solving and analytical skills to research employee questions and issues in regards to company policies, procedures and plans
·         Ability to work under pressure and able to successfully multi-task by recognizing priorities
·         Knowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail software, and HRIS systems
 
Candidates will be placed in the appropriate job title based on education, years of experience and industry knowledge.
