Wisconsin State SHRM Conference Membership Drive
 
The 1st membership drive effort at the 2009 Wisconsin SHRM State Conference in October was a resounding success!!!
 
Every SHRM chapter in the state provided information on their upcoming programming, the benefits of affiliating with a local Chapter, and registration information for the volunteers to pass along to interested attendees at the conference. The goal was to encourage attendees who were not already members of a local SHRM chapter to join one.
 
A big THANK YOU to the members of the local SHRM Chapters and the Wisconsin SHRM State Council who volunteered their time to staff the booth.
 
Due to those efforts, 48 people have joined a local Chapter since the State Conference! Congratulations to those who have joined-you will soon be reaping the rewards of affiliating and creating a new professional network for yourself! Congratulations to the local Chapters as well, as your hard work and efforts to increase your membership are being realized!
 
As communicated earlier, anyone who joined a local Chapter between October 14th and November 15th became eligible to win a free 2010 Wisconsin SHRM State Conference Registration. The three lucky winners of the FREE registrations to the 2010 Wisconsin State SHRM Conference are:
  • Steve Scherer who joined the Racine & Kenosha Area SHRM Chapter
  • Jodi Yenerall who also joined the Racine & Kenosha Area SHRM Chapter
  • Shelly Murphy who joined the Green Bay Area SHRM Chapter

Member Get a Member Campaign
As a SHRM member, you know the benefits you receive as part of membership, access to a variety of resources on the website, conferences, webinars, books, etc. From June 1 – July 31 we are holding a “member get a member” campaign. Members who refer an individual for membership will receive a $10 Amazon gift certificate for each new member up to 5 new members. Members referring more than 5 new members will be eligible for a drawing for a $150 American Express gift card. You will receive an e-mail with additional information.
 
Have you heard the news? SHRM has launched an exciting new HR Young Professionals program! This program aims to supplement the professional network offered by our more than 575 chapter affiliates, with special attention paid to those SHRM members who are just starting out in their HR careers.
